Hunter is now 19 months old and has been practicing to be 2 for about 6 months now. He is very independent and knows what he wants!
He talks a lot and has about 40 words in his vocabulary, although he doesn't say them all the time and some he only repeats after we say them. His favorite are: 'What?' when you call his name, 'outside', 'where go?', 'whoah' (dramatically), 'ouchie', 'uh oh', 'go go, bye bye', 'doggies', 'ball', 'bath time', 'yucky', and of course 'NO'! He also says 'wa wee' for water :) His Dad's favorite two are 'turkey' and 'deer'!! He asked Aunt Krissy a couple weeks ago 'juice, more?' and he can say Mommy, Daddy, Gramma, Papa, Ree (Aunt Kari), Jakey, Dale, Joshy, KK (Kailee), Owey and Abi. He also likes to repeat, over and over again 'outside me, outside me' and each time it gets louder and louder. He also uses his manners and says 'please' and 'thank you' when I ask him to (okay, sometimes... he doesn't always on queue). We end every night by saying 'nite nite' =)
I have always talked to him and we've had conversations since he was an infant so it is very exciting for me that he is communicating with me so much :) When I talk to him, he will answer 'yes' and 'no'. He helps pick up his toys, puts his dirty clothes in his laundry basket after we undress, takes his diaper to the garbage and lots more. When he spills his milk, I give him a wipe to clean it up with or he will walk into the kitchen and get a hand towel to clean up. Last week he came in and grabbed a dish towel so I asked him if he made a mess and he said 'yes', so I peeked around to see what he was cleaning and he had grabbed the coffee bag out of the garbage and coffee grounds spilled everywhere. When he saw me, he said 'uh oh'!
Hunter is also an escape artist. He mastered opening the front door last month, so we have to use the dead bolt. I think he has a sensor for when it's not locked, too, because he's gotten out a few times when we forget to lock it. Luckily, he's never made it past the grass. No shoes, sometimes socks, he just wants outside! So Daddy put a child proof door knob cover on, for the times we forget to lock the dead bolt. That lasted 3 days. There is a photo I will post below.
Yesterday evening we had my friend, Lyndi, Kari, Dan, Dale, Jake and Abi over for dinner. They can all vouch for me, that our Son is unstoppable!
He has a lot of amazing moments, where I just smile because he is so hilarious and has the best personality. BUT, he also knows how to throw a major tantrum and is very mean, at times. He likes to throw, hit, pinch and bite. I will dance when this phase ends!
We like to have craft time, go to the park, take walks, go swimming at the YMCA and play with his friends and cousins. We are really looking forward to trips to the Beach, Camping and outdoor activities this Summer :)
