Powell Place: Summer Days

We've been very busy this Summer with a lot of adventures and making new memories. Mommy took a week of vacation in July and August, we enjoyed both full weeks to the maximum :)

A few of my favorite Hunter-ism's I would like to keep for memory:

'I like this song, turn it UP, Mom!'

'Your nails are pretty, I like them. Did Sharon do them?'

'Mom, put the key in and turn your tires!'

Hunter has got to be the best child at the 'who, what, where, when and WHY' game. We went through the why phase last year, but now it's back with a vengeance. He'll ask, you answer, then he asks 'why' with your answer and will keep going. We've been up to 30 times before I just can't do it anymore. You try reverse psychology but he gives it right back to you.

All I can do is laugh and hope that changing the subject will refocus the conversation.

'Where is Mickey, where is Disneyland, where is California.'

'Who got you this? Why? Where did he got it from?'

After leaving Auntie's, he asks 'Mom, why we need to leave?' Because Auntie has to go to work. 'Why does Auntie have to go to work?' To make money. 'Why to make money?' So she can buy food for you to eat when you're at her house. 'Why I eat at her house, Mom?' Because you get hungry so she makes you lunch and snacks. 'Ok. I like eating at Auntie's house. Where does Auntie work?' She works downtown. 'Where's downtown?' That way, as I point. 'Where does she work downtown?' She works at the Dr's office. 'Where does she work at the Dr's office?' The Dr's office is downtown. 'What does she do at work?' She cleans his Office and the other rooms. 'Why does she clean them?' So they can take care of people. 'Why they make a mess and not clean up, Mom?'

YES. We go on and on, he never gives up. He can't accept a simple answer, answers turn into more questions and the questions never turn into simple answers.

He asked Uncle Dan a question, he answered, H questioned again so Uncle Dan says 'Hunter, why is the sky blue?' and he says 'the sky isn't blue, Unc Dan, the sky is gray.' So matter of fact!

One morning, he asked for an oreo and I said not right now, maybe after dinner tonight. He then proceeds to tell me 'My Dad said yes, I can have cookie for bweakfast! You mean, Mom!'

- If he asks for something and I tell him no, he says his Dad told him yes... and vice versa.

He's already trying to play us!

He still has an obsession for Papa's mower and Ken's shop. He loves to do chores around the house, watering the garden, flowers, feeding the fish and Chief & Shelby.
He also loves to join his Daddy at the bow range :)

He repeats everything you say. When you ask him not to do something (ex: Hunter, please don't swing that) his response is 'it's fine, Mom'. He now tells you which episode he wants to watch, for cartoons. 'I wanna watch Oso the golden bear one' or 'Mickey's silly problem', 'Daisy bo-peep', 'The Friendship Team one', Goofy's thinking cap!', etc.

We love our toddler =))

He has a real bat and ball for outside but we have to stick to soft equipment indoors!

He was watching the ducks and one shook the water off his body and he yells 'that duck just shaked his tail feathers!' laughing hysterically. I love my Son!
